Radar Integration

Radar Integration

Radars are the primary means to detect targets in maritime surveillance systems. A wide variety of radars exist, including commercial magnetron radars, solid state radars for low clutter and small target detection and military radars for long range. A common problem faced by government agencies is integrating radars from different manufacturers into one surveillance system.

SSR’s high performance radar processor allows most common radars and legacy systems to be easily integrated into a common operating platform that can include other sensors and be shared with multiple users over a TCP IP network.

The detection capability of any radar system is greatly improved when combined with an SSR radar processor. Using sophisticated proprietary algorithms the radar processor is able to enhance the detection of small targets that are usually not observed on standard commercial radar displays.

The radar processor interfaces with most modern commercial radar systems, including Furuno, Terma, Sperry, GEM, Kelvin Hughes, Raytheon and Simrad, Blighter as well as military radars. Both magnetron and solid state radars are supported and SSR can integrate land based radars with mobile vessels or vehicle surveillance platforms.
